Dick Move #19: Say what's on your mind

I believe, with some confidence, that I'm the most interesting man in the whole nation.  And I suspect my people think the same.  They hang on my every word, anticipate my musings of matters of interest from national to personal.  I'm forced to meet their expectations.

All that wisdom takes a lot of time.  Increasingly, it takes almost all day.  Once I get started, it's hard to stop.  I don't have any remorse for my long discourse though.  We all do it.

If you read the Dictator's Handbook, you read about Hugo Chavez' penchant for longwinded speeches.  My buddy in Cambodia read a speech last week that topped five hours.  And Nicaragua's Daniel Ortega can go for half a day, too.  Clearly, if you've got the monopoly on wisdom, knowledge, and righteousness, it can take a long time to convey.

Settle into your seats, people.  I've got a lot more to say about the subject …
